Research
Created in 1946 to encourage and provide facilities for research relating to subjects of national importance to Australia, research in science, medicine & health at ANU continues to fulfil that initial purpose. Read on to find out more about our current research activity.
Research areas
Covering all areas of scientific endeavour, from astrophysics to climate change, epidemiology to theoretical chemistry, scientists at ANU use their skills to contribute to advancing science for the future of the world.
To categorise these activities is difficult to say the least. The areas listed here are broad headings, and the tip of the iceberg in regards to the research projects and activities we engage in.
Research degrees
Participating in one of our research based degree program is extremely rewarding. Research is what our academics are passionate about, and the answers they are finding will change the way our society works.
